Holiday spirit.
So tonight I watched a Christmas program at the elementary school... No, I'm not a perv, my youngest daughter was in it. Too cute in her little red velvet dress and white tights singing about holidays around the world and playing a xylophone. Such determination in all the kids faces. You could see they practiced and were proud of themselves. You could tell they were having fun. You could see the lights in their eyes. Still some magic there. In between songs and afterward there was a constant chatter of excitement. If that's not a testament to keeping the arts strong in school, I'm not sure what is. Readin' writin' and 'rithmetic are important, but music, theater, art, sports... these things set us free.
